Steve Bannon must report to prison by July 1st to serve his four-month sentence for contempt of Congress in the US Capitol insurrection investigation.

Former Trump ally Steve Bannon must report to prison by July 1st to serve his four-month sentence for defying a subpoena from the House committee that investigated the US Capitol insurrection. US District Judge Carl Nichols in Washington granted the justice department's request for Bannon to begin his prison term after a three-judge panel of a federal appeals court upheld his contempt of Congress conviction. Bannon, who was sentenced in October 2022, was allowed to remain free while he appealed the conviction. However, the three-member panel from the DC Circuit Court of Appeals unanimously rejected Bannon's claim that he was following legal advice in refusing to testify before Congress.
