South Carolina Athletics won't rehire Beverly Smith as head softball coach after 14 seasons.
South Carolina Athletics announced that Beverly Smith will not return as head softball coach. During her 14 seasons, the Gamecocks had a .588 overall record and a .318 mark in the Southeastern Conference. Smith coached two NFCA All-Americans, 10 All-SEC, and 15 All-Region players. The team finished 36-24 overall, 8-16 in SEC play, and reached the NCAA Durham Regional in the most recent season.
