Sarawak seeks RM17bn for healthcare facility improvements, with 206 clinics in poor condition and 39 planned for upgrades in 2023.

Sarawak needs RM17 billion to improve and redevelop all healthcare facilities, as per Deputy Health Minister Datuk Lukanisman Awang Sauni. 206 health clinics in the state are in poor condition, with 39 set for RM19 million upgrades this year. The plan involves upgrading staff quarters in rural and remote areas, and the Petra Jaya Hospital in Kuching is 70% complete, set to open in August 2025.
