The Royal College of GPs warns of losing GPs faster than training new ones, urging political parties to enhance workforce efforts. Despite 493 full-time equivalent GPs in Oxfordshire as of April, up from 467 in March 2019, the UK fell short of the Conservatives' 2019 manifesto pledge to recruit 6,000 more GPs by 2025, with 37,237 full-time equivalent GPs across England. The increase was mainly due to more trainees in practices.
