Militants in Manipur's Jiribam district torched a police outpost and set several houses on fire, prompting a commando contingent of Manipur Police to be airlifted for security assistance. The suspected hill-based militants targeted the Jiri police outpost and additional areas, burning unconfirmed numbers of houses. Congress MP Angomcha Bimol Akoijam urged the state government to protect residents' lives and properties.
