Irish authorities deported convicted sex offender Chico Makamda, 40, to the Democratic Republic of Congo. Makamda had 19 previous convictions and served in Midlands Prison for failing to notify a change in his details. This was the first removal by An Garda Síochána to the Democratic Republic of Congo, following significant engagement between officials from both countries.
