Immigrants account for half of new US jobs since October, according to the House Budget Committee.

The House Budget Committee reported that half of the new jobs created in the US since October have been filled by immigrants, as per data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics. The foreign-born population has accounted for 840,000 new jobs in the last seven months, while the overall labor force participation rate has decreased to 62.5%. The committee suggests that this job growth, which includes illegal immigrants, indicates a weaker economy than initially suggested.
