The family of a US police officer, Stephen Alexander, who died in a road collision in Co Wexford along with his parents and brother, have settled a High Court action for €310,000 over his death. The American visitors, who were in Ireland for a funeral, were in a hire car when a U-turn attempt resulted in the collision on the main Rosslare to Waterford road outside New Ross. Alexander, a decorated police officer based in a suburb of Chicago, was a passenger in the vehicle.
