Enugu Electricity Distribution Company (EEDC) threatens to disconnect South-East government houses, CBN offices, military entities, and other high-profile customers over an outstanding N180 billion debt. The disconnection notice was issued by the company's Head of Corporate Communications, Emeka Ezeh, on Friday, stating that the company will commence the disconnection of electricity supply to defaulters from June 10. Affected defaulters include Enugu, Ebonyi, Anambra, Abia, and Imo state governments, Innoson Technical & Industries, University of Nigeria (Enugu and Nsukka campuses), and the Nigerian Bottling Company Ltd., among others. EEDC's decision to disconnect these customers aims to recover its money and address the revenue deficit caused by unpaid electricity bills and arrears.
