Cineworld, owner of Regal, Cinema City, Picturehouse, and Planet, is reportedly exploring a strategic sale of its UK operations. The company is working with AlixPartners, a consultant, to consider a possible disposal and is also looking into alternative options, such as a company voluntary arrangement which could result in closure of some UK cinemas. The sale process is anticipated to last several weeks.
