Black bears charging people prompt active warnings in Squamish Estuary, BC.
Residents of Squamish, British Columbia are being advised to exercise caution in the Squamish Estuary due to active black bears in the area. Two people were charged by a bear while walking their dog on a leash, prompting an alert from the District of Squamish urging the public to be aware of wildlife encounters, travel in groups, and carry bear spray. Conservation Officers have placed additional signage in the area and will respond as necessary to ensure public safety.
