Vermont becomes the latest state to pass a pay transparency law, joining states like California, Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Minnesota, New York, Jersey City, New Jersey, Washington, and Washington D.C. requiring companies to disclose salary ranges on job ads. By 2025, approximately 1 in 3 workers will be impacted by these transparency laws, as per Lulu Seikaly, senior employment counsel at Payscale.
