Saskatchewan allocates $255m in funding for First Nation and Métis communities to address MMIWG, with a $21.7m investment in the RCMP First Nations Policing Program.
Saskatchewan has released a progress report detailing $255m in funding for First Nation and Métis communities, a $6.1m increase from last year, to address missing and murdered Indigenous women (MMIWG). The report also includes a $21.7m investment in the RCMP First Nations Policing Program. However, groups such as the Federation of Sovereign Indigenous Nations and the Métis Nation-Saskatchewan argue that there is more work to be done, with concerns about the inclusion of families' voices and increased collaboration between communities.
