Nebraska adopts a court diversion program for veterans, becoming the first state to do so.
Nebraska becomes the first state to adopt a court diversion program for veterans, which could serve as a model for other states. The Veterans Justice Commission provided the model for this law, estimating that nearly 200,000 military veterans are currently in prisons and jails across the country.
