Hawke's Bay Flood Protection Projects to Get Speedier Consents: Ministers Mark Mitchell and Penny Simmonds announced a fast consenting process for flood resilience projects in Hawke's Bay. This new process allows work on building stop banks, spillways and other infrastructure to commence sooner, protecting around 975 properties and communities. The streamlined consenting process will only apply to applications lodged by Hawke's Bay councils and for eight specific locations in the region.
