A 2.3 km earthquake shook up Buford residents late Thursday night, as confirmed by the USGS. The shallow earthquake, with a depth of three miles, was an unusual one, according to Severe Weather Team 2 Meteorologist Brian Monahan. Reports of feeling the quake are mainly limited to the south side of Lake Lanier, with no reported injuries or damages.
