Illinois invests $2m into libraries in underserved areas, with 113 libraries receiving technology grants from the Secretary of State's Office. The grants are awarded to communities eligible for equalization aid, due to low tax bases and high poverty rates. These funds will enable libraries to upgrade technology, expand online collections, and provide resources for persons with disabilities.
