Adelaide's SkyCity Casino has been ordered by the Federal Court to pay a $67m penalty and $3m in legal costs for violating Australia's Anti-Money Laundering and Counter-Terrorism Financing Act between 2016-2022. The casino failed to meet requirements and proper ongoing customer due diligence. This is the second civil penalty AUSTRAC has won against Australian casinos.
