US Secret Service investigates $5M theft from Massachusetts workers union by "Yahoo Boys" in a business email compromise scheme.

The US government filed a civil forfeiture action to reclaim the money, which was part of a business email compromise (BEC) scheme. The attackers tricked the union into transferring $6.4M to a fraudulent account, which was then routed through international banks and cryptocurrency exchanges.
