Study shows nurse case managers in telehealth lowered blood pressure in low-income Black and Hispanic stroke survivors with uncontrolled hypertension.
A study from NYU Langone found that adding nurse case managers to telehealth significantly lowered blood pressure in low-income Black and Hispanic stroke survivors with uncontrolled hypertension. Home blood pressure telemonitoring with nurse case management resulted in a more than two-fold reduction in blood pressure compared to a group without nurse access. The findings, published in JAMA, addressed controlling hypertension in low-income Black and Hispanic patients with stroke across multiple hospital systems.
