South Australia's Treasurer announces a $244 one-off cash payment for one in four low-income households.

South Australia's Treasurer, Stephen Mullighan, announced a one-off cash payment of $244 for one in four households to help with cost-of-living pressures. The payment, which will cost $51.5 million, will be distributed to low-income households including pensioners, the unemployed, and public housing tenants. Despite concerns about inflation, Mullighan stated that the payment will not pose any extra problems for the Reserve Bank as it attempts to curb sticky inflation.
