Smithfield Foods acquires Cargill's dry sausage production facility in Nashville, TN, to bolster growth in value-added packaged meats, including high-quality pepperoni, deli, charcuterie, and dry sausage products. The deal is set to close by July 2024 and the acquired facility will add 50 million pounds of capacity to Smithfield's existing portfolio. Employment will be offered to Cargill's Nashville employees with no changes to their current base pay.
