A Vancouver Island resident in Oak Bay lost $13,500 to a complex computer scam, according to the Oak Bay Police Department. The victim received a call from a "bank inspector" claiming there were two fraudulent charges on their account, and the scammer used a program to gain remote access to the victim's electronic devices. The Oak Bay police are currently investigating the case.
