New Zealand's Associate Minister of Finance directs LINZ to expedite overseas investment processing under Overseas Investment Act.
New Zealand's Associate Minister of Finance, David Seymour, has directed Land Information New Zealand (LINZ) to expedite overseas investment processing times under the Overseas Investment Act. The country has the most restrictive foreign direct investment policy among OECD nations, with current processing times averaging 89 days. The new directive letter aims to process 80% of consent applications within half the statutory timeframes and streamline consent processes by adopting a risk-based approach. This directive letter is part of a three-part process to enable overseas investment and make New Zealand a more attractive destination for investment.
