MC5, the iconic proto-punk band from Detroit, will release their first album in 53 years, "Heavy Lifting," on Oct. 18th. The album features co-writer and founding guitarist Wayne Kramer, who passed away in February, and drummer Dennis Thompson, who died in May. It includes appearances by Slash, Tom Morello, William DuVall, Vernon Reid, and Don Was. "Heavy Lifting" will be available in CD, vinyl, and digital formats, with two-CD and two-LP versions containing bonus tracks of MC5 classics also available.
