As of June 6, China has harvested 57% of its winter wheat, surpassing last year's halfway mark by two to three days. The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs reported 12.67 million hectares of winter wheat harvested so far, with provinces like Sichuan and Hubei completing their harvests. Jiangsu, Shandong, Shanxi, and Hebei will soon accelerate theirs. The government aims to improve grain production, storage, and processing systems to consolidate food security, with 2023's grain output reaching a record high of 695.41 million tonnes.
