Storm trackers in Texas Panhandle recovered a massive hailstone, about the size of a pineapple, likely setting a state record. Veteran storm chasers Val and Amy Castor discovered the hailstone measuring over 7 inches long while chasing a major thunderstorm system. The National Weather Service in Lubbock, Texas, believes the stone is a new state record, surpassing a 6.4-inch hailstone found in Hondo in 2021.
