Congress leader Rahul Gandhi to appear in Bengaluru court on June 7 for defamation case filed by BJP's Karnataka unit.
Congress leader Rahul Gandhi will appear before a special court in Bengaluru on Friday in response to a defamation case filed by the BJP's Karnataka unit against the Congress party for publishing ads labeling the BJP as corrupt ahead of the 2023 state polls. Rahul Gandhi, fourth accused, had been granted a one-day exemption by the court on June 1. The other accused include Karnataka Congress chief D K Shivakumar, and Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. The court had initially sought a non-bailable warrant for Gandhi's non-appearance but later exempted his appearance on June 1, noting he must be present by June 7.
