Cirque du Soleil founder Guy Laliberté has been fined $24,000 in French Polynesia for cannabis possession. He was found guilty of possessing and using cannabis in Papeete, Tahiti, after being taken into custody in 2019 for claims of cannabis cultivation. Laliberté claimed to be a medical cannabis user and denied any involvement in the selling or trafficking of controlled substances.
