51-year-old James Hopkins allegedly stabbed a police dog during arrest attempt for heroin and meth trafficking warrants.

51-year-old James Edgar Hopkins IV faces charges including aggravated breach of peace, cruelty to a police dog, and resisting arrest with a deadly weapon after allegedly stabbing a Greenville County Sheriff's Office police dog during an arrest attempt on May 13. Hopkins was being pursued for heroin and meth trafficking warrants. The police dog, named Micky, survived after undergoing emergency surgery.
