Virginia Passenger Rail Authority (VPRA) considers extending rail service to New River Valley (NRV) on Norfolk Southern Corp's main line and purchasing the Manassas Line in Northern Virginia.

Virginia Passenger Rail Authority (VPRA) discusses extending passenger rail service to New River Valley (NRV) on Norfolk Southern Corp's main line (N-Line). This is an alternative to a depot near Uptown Christiansburg Mall. VPRA is also considering purchasing the Manassas Line in Northern Virginia for additional frequencies. Evaluation results and recommendations will be presented to VPRA board in August.
