Southern Utilities has issued a boil water notice for all customers in Smith and Cherokee counties due to recent thunderstorms and power outages causing some water wells to lose power. Customers are asked to boil water before use for drinking, cooking, and other consumption, or use bottled water as an alternative. A notice will be sent when boiling water is no longer necessary.
