The US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) plans to close its Salt Lake Regional Office in 2024 due to significant staff attrition and will transfer its operations to Denver. The announcement follows a federal judge's dismissal of the SEC's lawsuit against Digital Licensing, doing business as DEBT Box, over an alleged $50m cryptocurrency scheme. The judge also ordered the SEC to pay $1m in attorney fees and $750k in receiver fees.
