New Zealand's interim financial statements for Apr 2024 show a stronger-than-expected fiscal position. Core Crown tax revenue was $1.7bn above forecast, mainly due to higher PIE and RWT on dividends. The OBEGAL deficit was $6.5bn, $1.7bn smaller than forecast. Net core Crown debt was $175bn, down $2bn from forecast, while net worth attributable to the Crown was $184.5bn, $1.8bn higher than forecast.
