Miami Marlins designate Avisail Garcia for assignment after underperforming contract.
The Miami Marlins have designated outfielder Avisail Garcia for assignment, according to reports. Garcia, who was signed to a four-year, $53 million contract in December 2021, has struggled since joining the Marlins, hitting .240 with two home runs and two RBIs in 18 games prior to his left hamstring strain. Garcia still has about $24 million left on his contract with the Marlins.
