Kansas lawmakers and Scoop and Score group work to attract Kansas City Chiefs to Kansas with stadium financing proposal.

Kansas lawmakers and a new group are making efforts to attract the Kansas City Chiefs football team from Missouri to Kansas. Top Kansas legislators, House Speaker Dan Hawkins and Senate President Ty Masterson, have offered to let the Chiefs create a plan for using state bonds to finance a new stadium in Kansas. The Legislature will consider the proposal during a special session on June 18. A group called Scoop and Score has launched a campaign for the Chiefs' move to Kansas, sending texts to Kansas residents and registering lobbyists to represent the cause at the Statehouse.
