Japan's service sector expanded in May, with the services PMI at 53.8. Though it slowed from 54.3 in April, it remains above the 50 mark. New business continued to grow, supported by tourism and the weak yen. The volume of new work received from overseas increased at the fastest pace since the new export subindex was added in 2014.
