Ireland's Air Corps are testing new maritime surveillance aircraft, which will enhance the nation's security, according to Defence Forces chief of staff, Lieutenant General Sean Clancy. The C295 aircraft are part of a response to growing and advanced threats operating at sea, such as cartels seeking weak spots for illicit activities. The Defence Forces have introduced the aircraft in a phased approach since obtaining them last year.
