India's ISRO and France's CNES are collaborating on TRISHNA, a satellite mission to monitor Earth's surface temperature, emissivity, biophysical, and radiation variables. The Thermal Infra-Red Imaging Satellite aims to address water and food security challenges, including urban heat island assessment, water quality and dynamics monitoring, and tracking snow-melt runoff and glacier dynamics. TRISHNA will be launched into a sun-synchronous orbit at 761 km altitude and operate for five years.
