Japanese auto manufacturer Hino Motors plans to close its Mid-South manufacturing plant in Marion, Arkansas by 2027, affecting 1,300 employees. The company cites unprofitability as the main reason for the closure, as they withdraw from the parts business at Hino Motors Manufacturing U.S.A. Inc. The plant, operational since October 2006, will cease production by the end of the year mentioned.
