15-day injured list: Trevor Williams, strained flexor muscle; Nationals recall DJ Herz for debut.
The Washington Nationals have placed right-hander Trevor Williams on the 15-day injured list due to a strained flexor muscle in his right forearm. Williams, who had a 5-0 record with a 2.22 ERA this season, was scheduled to start against the New York Mets. In his place, the Nationals have recalled left-hander DJ Herz from Triple-A Rochester to make his major league debut. Herz has a 3-2 record with a 3.75 ERA in nine starts this season at Rochester.
