Connecticut man, Andrey Desmond, who attacked Muslim state representative Maryam Khan outside a prayer service, has been sentenced to five years in prison for attempted sexual assault and other crimes. The punishment was previously deemed too lenient by Khan. Desmond, who has struggled with mental illness including schizophrenia, must also serve parole, register as a sex offender and receive mental health treatment upon release.
