Chile is set to install the world's largest astronomy camera with a 3.2 gigapixel resolution and 3-ton weight, aiming to carry out a decade-long exploration under the clear skies of northern Chile. The Rubin Observatory, consisting of an eight-meter wide-field telescope, will operate the observatory, studying dark matter and investigating the possibility of Earth colliding with asteroids, or stars and planets close to the sun.
