Archer Aviation receives Part 135 certification from FAA for electric air taxi services.
Archer Aviation, an electric air taxi manufacturer, has received a key certification from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) allowing it to begin commercial operations. The Part 135 certification follows a two-year process involving thousands of pages of documentation and 14 manuals. Archer Aviation plans to certify its four-passenger aircraft, "Midnight," and could begin air taxi services as early as next year. The company has partnered with Stellantis to produce hundreds of electric air taxis and has received support from United Airlines, which views potential in reducing carbon emissions with the new technology.
