Amazon's first U.S. labor union, the Amazon Labor Union (ALU), has agreed to affiliate with the International Brotherhood of Teamsters, a move to strengthen the struggling union. If ratified, the ALU will become an "autonomous" local union within the Teamsters, with the same rights and duties as a standard chapter. The Teamsters said its board has already unanimously approved the affiliation, which will bring them closer to their goal of unionizing Amazon's non-corporate workforce.
