Two University of Texas professors, Daniel Bonevac and John Hatfield, are suing the federal government over Title IX rules, stating they won't accommodate students who obtain abortions. The professors claim they do not intend to offer excused absences for female students seeking abortions, including those that are illegal under state law or not medically required. They also refuse to hire teaching assistants who have violated Texas or federal abortion laws.
