Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co. (TSMC) has elected its CEO, CC Wei, as its new chairman, making him the first person to hold both positions. Amid rising tensions with China, TSMC considered relocating its chip factories from Taiwan, but decided against the move due to the difficulties it would pose. TSMC controls more than half of the global output of microchips used in various electronic devices and industries.
