Supreme Court agrees to review Salvatore Delligatti's appeal, challenging a 2018 gun charge conviction as a "crime of violence".
The Supreme Court has agreed to review an appeal from Salvatore Delligatti, a Genovese crime family associate challenging his 2018 conviction on a gun charge adding five years to his prison sentence. Delligatti was convicted of attempted murder and provided a .38 revolver to gang members to carry out the killing. He argues that his underlying crime doesn't qualify as a "crime of violence," which the gun charge was based on. The Supreme Court's decision to take up the case aims to provide clarity for lower courts.
