Study by University of Canterbury reveals that former mental health patients can improve system accessibility and kindness.

A new study led by University of Canterbury public health Senior Lecturer Dr Kaaren Mathias, with Associate Professor Annabel Ahuriri-Driscoll, shows that individuals with direct experience of mental health services can improve the system, making it kinder and more accessible for others. This study, funded by the Canterbury Medical Research Foundation, found that former patients can contribute significantly to mental health care.
