Snowflake introduces Polaris Catalog, a vendor-neutral, open catalog for Apache Iceberg, offering full enterprise security and interoperability with major cloud providers and services. The Polaris Catalog will be open-sourced within 90 days to provide users with increased flexibility, choice, and control over their data. This open-source approach enables cross-engine access to data and supports multiple platforms, including AWS, Confluent, Dremio, Google Cloud, Microsoft Azure, and Salesforce.
